Worried about Knocking Out a Tooth?
Without
the proper mouth protection, playing sports can result in
the loss of one or more teeth. Each year in the United
States alone, approximately 5 million teeth are lost because
of inadequate or a complete lack of protection. The
over-the-counter mouthguards sold in retail stores do not
fit well, which can compromise their effectiveness. But a
custom-made mouthguard will fit properly and give sufficient
protection for any sport. We make them right here in our
office!
The American Dental Association
recommends the use of custom mouthguards for these sports:
acrobatics, basketball, boxing, field hockey, football,
gymnastics, handball, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts,
racquetball, roller hockey, rugby, shotputting,
skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, soccer, squash, surfing,
volleyball, water polo, weight lifting, and wrestling.
Custom Nightguards to Eliminate
Teeth Grinding
If you know you clench your jaw or
grind your teeth when you are under stress or while asleep,
we can provide a nightguard that will protect your teeth
from the wear and tear of grinding. This helps to keep more
healthy tooth structure intact and protects restorations
from damage. Your nightguard is worn at night during sleep,
and we can provide you with a customized fit. It is
important to be consistent with the use of this oral
appliance to relieve symptoms and provide adequate
protection for your teeth and fillings.

Dr. Elena Bielawski and the team at Lifetime
Family Dentistry are very pleased to be able to
offer beautiful
smiles to their neighbors in Collinsville and the surrounding
communities.
Dr. Bielawski has a passion for dentistry and
personalized patient care that began over 22 years ago. She received
her initial dental degree from the School of Dental Medicine in
Russia. After completing her specialty residency, she dedicated 10
years working as a maxillofacial surgeon in a hospital setting and
in private practice. After moving to the U.S., Dr. Bielawski earned
her dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry
with Honors in Oral Surgery. Upon graduation, she completed a
general dentistry residency program at St. Francis Hospital in
Hartford, where she received advanced training in restorative
dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, dental implants, and
sedation. At the completion of her residency, Dr. Bielawski was
awarded the E. Gerard Keen, DDS Award for demonstration of the
highest motivational and clinical skills.
In order to keep up to date on the latest
advancements in dentistry and to provide the highest level of care
for her patients, Dr. Bielawski takes between 100 and 140 continuing
education hours per year, far exceeding the 25 hours required by the
State of Connecticut. Her commitment to education grows from her
sincere dedication to patient care and the desire to provide every
patient with the smile of their dreams in complete comfort. She is a
proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the
International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the
Misch International Implant Institute, and currently working toward
Diplomate status in those fields.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bielawski enjoys
organic gardening (if deer missed her flower beds), cooking,
knitting, listening to classical music, working out at the gym, and
learning more about American history. She lives in Canton with her
husband, who’s a proudly retired U.S. Army veteran.
